Anxiety is not the price of admission to a creative life!
I’d be happy to speak to your group, club, association, university, college, corporation, or organization on any of the topics below. My expertise is in helping writers find peace of mind while they write, publish, and promote their work. Finding Peace of Mind While You Write, Publish, and Promote Your Book If you want to be a happy and successful published author, you must show up, believe in your vision, and understand how to support yourself and your dreams. In this presentation you’ll learn how to navigate your writing and publishing journey from the inside out. We’ll take a deep dive into barriers such as fear, overwhelm, accountability, and self-sabotage. You will begin to see your hurdles as opportunities for personal and professional transformation and growth. These insights will help you complete your writing projects and share them with the world, even when faced with what appear to be crushing obstacles. You will come away with a fresh perspective that points you in the direction of your own wisdom. Turn Your Blog Into A Book Have you ever thought about turning your blog into a book? If you’ve been blogging for years, you may have the substance of a book drafted. There are several great reasons to turn your blog into a book. Here are four: (1) Even your biggest fans may not read all (or even most) of your blog posts, and chances are, you have a lot of great content. (2) Organizing your work thematically, versus chronologically, creates a powerful impact. When you assemble like blog posts together under thematically related sections, each piece informs the others in ways that reinforce, expand, and transform your material. (3) Your readers will be able to identify subjects that they’re interested in without having to search your blog. (4) Revisiting what you’ve written over time and looking back at it through the lens of what you’ve learned since you wrote your original post enables you to deepen your understanding, hone your message, and share stronger writing. But stringing a bunch of blog posts together doesn’t make a book. This presentation will provide everything you need to make the leap from blog to book. Speak, Sister! Book Promotion for Introverts It’s one thing to write a book, another to get it published, and still another to promote it. This is true for authors across the board, no matter their path to publication, and can be a rude awakening for some. Many writers identify as introverts. Most would prefer to stay home and write. This was my position for years. But I’ve learned that the best way to approach promotion is as an explorer, with a lighthearted sense of adventure, curiosity, and joy. This talk covers how to do this. We discuss what it takes to show up authentically, with the intention to serve. You will learn how to reframe book promotion from a sales and marketing perspective to one based on connection with like-minded people discussing topics you both love. |
