WRITERS GROUP
Bella is forming a new group for professional creative writers interested in meeting biweekly to give and receive editorial feedback on works in progress. She is looking for writers who are excellent critics, finely attuned to language, story, image, narration, and other elements of craft. Group members must be willing and able to support one another with clarity, honesty, and integrity. Literary tastes among group members will vary, but each member must have a deep appreciation for, and a desire to accomplish, great writing. “Great” meaning writing that is specific and clearly drawn, writing that evokes a time, a place, or a character, with precision and truth. —Writing that engages the senses, paints pictures, and stirs emotions.
If you are a published writer with a minimum of ten years experience and you’d like to apply to participate in this group, please email Bella your bio along with five pages of a current writing sample, and answers to the following questions:
- Why do you write?
- Why do you want to join a writers group?
- Have you ever been in one before? If so, what was that experience like?
- What do you like to read?
- Where have you published your work?
- What might you bring to the group?
- What are you working on now?
- Is there a question we haven't asked that you would like to answer?
